When we think about the sport of gravel racing, we think of just about the grittiest riders on two wheels. In one word, the conditions are demanding. Physically, psychologically, and demanding on our equipment. It takes a different kind of mindset to commit to 200+ miles of off-road pedaling through adverse conditions, free of support, and relying just on your own dedication to work through the race, pushing to stay at the front of the group. It also takes a different kind of machine. A machine that's built for speed, with a balance of comfort, rather than gear-hauling that we see on some gravel adventure steeds. To satisfy this need, Cervélo crafts the Aspero Apex 1x Complete Bike. This is a bike built with purpose and intent. It's constructed to take on the rough and rowdy terrain, and float ahead with lofty tire clearance that accommodates either the ultra-plush 650b or quick-rolling 700c hoops. It's a weapon built for chasing down podiums, and packing in all of the essentials you need to get you there.
The Aspero is built with modern geometry that's aim is to combine comfort for the long gravel miles, with progressive fit to help you soar to the front of the pack. Every size of the Aspero provides an identical ride feel, which blows other rides out of the water that maintain the same fork for every size. While some of this is achieved through a unique fork for each size, an adjustable fork offset lets you further tinker with things, enabling the bike to meet any rider's needs. The Aspero uses a moderate head tube angle at 72-degrees (size 52) to provide more stability than Cervélo's road steeds do, without going full-out slack into the realm of mountain bike geometry. This lengthens the wheelbase slightly to create a solid feel on loose descents and corners, but pairs up with a steep seat-tube angle for a nice perch through pedal-heavy sections. Cervélo crafts the fork with a built-in dropout that allows the geometry to stay identical regardless of wheel size. This dropout also enables you to fit huge tires for full cushion on rough terrain, with 700c options fitting most 42 tires, and 650b offering room for most 49's — though brand and tread can impact fit. Cervélo recommends leaving at least 4mm of space around your tires to accommodate clearance for the inevitable mud buildup that occurs during the lengthy miles of the Crusher or Private Idaho.
When it comes to carbon fiber layups, Cervélo is no slouch. It's engineers carefully and meticulously design their layups to maximize stiffness where its most important, compliance where you need a little comfort, and keep weight at a minimum. This particular model uses a C-level carbon, which uses ultra-high modulus carbon to damp jarring vibrations from mixed conditions, aiming to find a balance of static comfort and dynamic comfort.
This particular build is finished off work SRAM's workhorse gravel group — the Apex 1. Like its pricier sibling, its ready to roll on drop bars with a hydraulic brakes, and utilizes double-tap shifting, but with a little more weight, and price savings to match. As you'd expect with Cervélo, the Aspero is built with the wide and stiff BBRight platform, offering a bottom bracket that doesn't flex under pressure when you're on your final sprints to the finish line.

Caledonia doesn't fit in a box nicely, and we like it that way. It was conceived on our Thursday night rides—routes that often play fast and loose with 'road ride.' Modern road riders are looking for bikes to handle long-distance, high pace, no limits, and offer maximum fun—the Caledonia delivers performance, comfort, and speed. Oh, and you can fit a 34mm tire in there. Or 31mm with fenders.

The P5 is focused entirely on aero performance and applied years of experience in engineering the fastest aero bikes and real-world testing with pro athletes. Cervélo 12-speed Shimano P5 Ulterga Di2 is a bike that pushes the boundaries in every way possible. The aerodynamics are critical to engineering a fast bike: aero drag accounts for as much as 90% of the overall resistance affecting a rider. The P5’s frame design and customized tube shapes improve its aerodynamics while enhancing its stiffness, weight, and usability - all in a UCI-legal package.

For us, the most rewarding days come with the toughest challenges that set our quads on fire and get our hearts pounding. They're days when all we're doing is climbing, and all we can manage is to think about the next few minutes or seconds of pedaling. We down our electrolyte-filled water and push forward because there's nowhere else to go but up, and we can't help but think about the rewarding descent that's sure to come. With a lightweight, stiff bike, these climbs are manageable and even enjoyable. With the R5 Ultegra Di2 Road Bike, these climbs are what we look forward to. They're what this bike is made for, and they're what we end up priding ourselves on. The sky is the limit with Cervelo's R5.
First, we want to focus on the ridiculously light weight of the R5. This new frame is 130 grams lighter than the previous model, which means there's a 16-percent reduction in the already "stupid light" frame. But, that's not all there is to this road machine. It can do everything from sprinting to precision handling and, while it may not be the most comfortable endurance bike of all time, it is well-suited for distance rides where we navigate multiple mountain passes.
The R5 frame captures a professional riding fit and feel with an aerodynamic riding position from the lowest possible frame stack. Drag is reduced with internal cable routing to improve aero gains, and tube shaping is designed to do the same with a wind-slicing feel. A lower bottom bracket and longer wheelbase optimize pedaling efficiency and speed, and the frame is estimated to be 21-percent stiffer at the head tube, making this a road bike that's faster than ever.
We would be remiss if we did not mention that the Cervelo R5 is equipped with a Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset for smooth electronic shifting at the lowest possible price point for this top-of-the-line steed. This is one of few bikes that can handle everything from sprints to climbs to swerving descents, and we love to see it. No matter where we're off to or what we're climbing, we can expect top-quality handling and confidence that helps us push ourselves further.

The S5 Red eTap AXS Road Bike lets us take full advantage of the latest technology from Cervelo to boost our performance for high-output training and local racing thanks to its aerodynamic design. The V-Stem integrates all cables for a clean cockpit and efficient aerodynamic characteristics. The frame is stiffest around the head tube and bottom bracket to ensure every bit of power that we put down goes straight to the rear wheel for acceleration.
This top-tier race build boasts SRAM’s premiere Red eTap AXS drivetrain components that offer instant electronic shifting and an efficient 12-speed cassette. The SRAM Red AXS cranks deliver an integrated power meter, and SRAM Red HRD brakes utilize 160mm disc rotors for reliable stopping power. Carbon Reserve wheels accommodate tubeless tire setups, and deliver optimal stiffness for acceleration and straight-lining speed.

After an almost 15-year hiatus, the Cervelo Soloist is back! The bike that redefined aerodynamic road bikes has been redesigned around the amateur racer rather than the pro. The new Soloist utilizes Cervelo’s time-tested carbon layup to create a lightweight, aerodynamic race bike that can stand up to the abuse of week-in, week-out racing and training. When we need to make a position change or loan our bike out to a friend, the internal cable routing system now threads the cables under the stem eliminating the need for a brake bleed when swapping the stem, which also creates a clean, aerodynamic cockpit. With room for up to 34mm tires, we don’t have to worry about settling for a narrow tire when the course has cobbles.
The Soloist Ultegra Di2 build combines a semi-compact front crankset and 11-30t 12-speed cassette with the lighting fast shifting of Shimano’s Ultegra Di2 derailleurs that entices us to go for those big sprints and maybe even try to catch that break. The Reserve 40/44 wheelset pairs a wider, shallower front wheel with a narrower, taller rear wheel to strike the perfect balance between speed and stability on the course. Laced up to Zipp ZR1 hubs and paired with ultra-grippy Vittoria Rubino Pro TLR G tires, this wheelset keeps us rolling comfortably in training when our competitors call it quits. Make no mistake, the Cervelo Soloist Ultegra Di2 Road Bike looks like a race bike, and rides like one too.

Whether riding road or gravel, we love speed. So everything on the RaceMax frame is engineered for that. The end result is the first gravel bike that:
Looks like a road bike
Rides like a road bike
Rips through gravel
Best of all, the very same RaceMax frame can be built up with a focus on pure speed with 35-46mm WAM tires in 700c can also be turned into an unstoppable machine with very wide tires p to 61mm WAM. Handy for that epic ride or trip abroad. And with two wheelsets, you can switch between the two setups easily. That’s RaceMax.
To make the fastest possible gravel bike, you need to start with the tire. Tire choice determines comfort & grip. But it also determines how you can shape the frame to redirect the airflow.
To aerodynamically engineer the frame around the tires, you need to know what their REAL measurements are. Not what’s on the label, but how they really fit. That’s REALFAST aerodynamics. But it’s not easy, as the tire dimension depends on the rim you use, the pressure and of course how accurate the manufacturer’s claimed size is.
So we took hundreds of measurements to know the real tire widths (which we call WAM - Width As Measured and RAM - Radius As Measured) and use that to engineer the frame around.
The most important dimension is the WAM as that directly correlates to traction, puncture resistance, aerodynamics and rolling resistance. The WAM you need depends on three factors:
Terrain (traction, puncture resistance)
Rider skill (how much grip you need for control)
Rider speed (the slower you go, the more you bump/sink into the terrain)
The graph on the left indicates the WAM you need, and based on the rim width you use, you can find our favorite tires for each WAM here. Please note that running a front derailleur (especially an electronic version) will limit the tire width you can fit.

From the start, our goal for the Strada was the best aerodynamics AND comfort. Because without comfort, you won’t be able to maintain your aero position. While push the limits of aerodynamics and comfort in every detail, the New Strada has two clearly distinct zones: Speed zone: the front half of the bike, with its ultra-deep yet narrow headtube, wrap-around downtube and bladed fork.
Comfort zone: the curved seattube, slender seatstays and long exposed seatpost provide the ultimate comfort while also helping aerodynamicsRunning cables internally can be nice and potentially reduce aero drag, but what is the point if you end up with a very wide and bulky headtube with oversized bearings to house the cables?
Our goal was to hide the cables but keep the headtube narrow and keeping the same narrow bearings of the original Strada. Quite the puzzle but the result is stunning. In the front view you will see our bearings are still narrow and the headtube even thins down in-between them. In the side view, you’ll see the headtube is deeper and with a full aero “nose”, taking full advantage of the new UCI rules.
To top it off, the cables hide inside the 3T Apto Integrale, using the original minimalist Apto shape but with cable guidance. Beauty meets functionality as this gives you full adjustability to find the perfect fit. Because aerodynamics are meaningless if you cannot stay comfortably in your aero position. 3T Integrale is compatible with SRAM and Shimano electronic drivetrains, both 2x and 1x.

From the start, the goal for the Strada was the best aerodynamics AND comfort.
In addition, wider tires reduce fatigue caused by high-frequency road buzz. But aerodynamics are also important on such rides, and the Strada remains the first aero bike engineered around wider tires (just like the Discus wheel range is engineered specifically around wider tires). Finally you can be fast and comfortable all day, every day, with one and the same bike.
As co-founder of Cervélo and Head of Design, Gerard Vroomen loves aerodynamics. Not just the theory, but real world aerodynamics. So we test at 20mph (32kmh) and 30mph (48kmh), we test with bottles and other “difficult parts”, we sometimes even test dirty and muddy bikes. But while the aero details of the Strada range stand out, he is proudest that it has started a worldwide trend towards more tire clearance on aero bikes. Comfort & speed.

Built from Surly’s proprietary, touring-compliant 'Natch tubesets, updates to the Disc Trucker include a shortened seat tube and slightly sloped top tube for better stand-over clearance, plus an increased stack height for a more relaxed riding position. Shortened chainstays offer improved stiffness and maneuverability around corners, while 12mm thru-axles provide a stiffer feel and greater stability when fully loaded.
To ensure the Disc Trucker continues to exceed expectations in terms of compatibility with modern product standards, its dropouts have been redesigned to accommodate flat-mount disc brakes and captured thru-axles. An updated fork incorporates dynamo routing and three-pack mounts for even more mounting options.
- 100% Chromoly steel frame and fork; double-butted main triangle and E.D. coating for increased frame life
- Braze-ons for fenders, racks, and almost anything else you might want to stick on your bike, plus spare spoke holders for when the road gets rough
- Fork blade three-pack mounts for even more mounting options, plus routing for Dynamo hubs
- Redesigned front and rear dropouts to accommodate captured 12mm thru-axles and flat-mount disc brakes
- Clearance for 26 x 2.1" tires with or without fenders
